Providing female teacher sponsorship with ongoing training and support to deliver high quality learning opportunities and act of catalysts of change.
Due to prevalent gender inequalities that exist in Nepal, women are often at a disadvantage when trying to embark on a professional career as they have typically had fewer opportunities to obtain qualifications than their male counterparts. CITC values the character of the candidate when recruiting rather than weighting the judgement on qualifications and testing methods which may discriminate against women. Its sponsorship programme implements high quality training in order to equip strong female candidates with the skills and experience necessary to move on to secure long-term work. Female teachers act as inspirational role models, particularly to young girls. One of CITC’s former female teachers is now a Headteacher and another is the Head of an Early Years department.
